John Watkins-Chow
John Watkins-Chow grew up in New Jersey and holds three degrees from MIT. His freelance career has taken him through animation; comics and trading card art. He has produced artwork tied to The Lord of the Rings; Star Wars; Indiana Jones and Marvel characters such as Spider-Man; the Avengers and the X-Men. Markers are his main tool on sketch cards; and his work has appeared in Upper Deck sets built around the Avengers and DC characters. For 2022 Marvel Masterpieces he filled artist slot MM188; and Crackwise has catalogued four variations of his signature from fronts and backs of those cards. Outside art he teaches high school mathematics and physics; runs comics and manga figure drawing workshops at public libraries; and develops his own comic Talismen. He posts as watkinschow on Instagram; Tumblr and DeviantArt.
